Videodrome

Videodrome follows Max Renn, the sleazy president of a small UHF television station who becomes obsessed with a mysterious broadcast called “Videodrome,” a pirate signal showing extreme violence and torture. As Max investigates the source of the signal, he is unknowingly exposed to a transmission that causes hallucinations and brain tumors, blurring the line between reality, technology, and the human body. Manipulated by shadowy media conspirators, Max becomes a pawn in a battle over mass control, as Videodrome literally reshapes his perceptions and his flesh. The film explores how media can invade consciousness, erode free will, and transform both mind and body, culminating in Max’s surrender to a new, grotesque form of existence.
